I cannot imagine having a better birthday celebration. To have all my best girls together sharing it with me was more than I could have ever hoped for. Well, I guess I did hope for it and it did happen so that one worked out. I loved that these women so important in my life were able to see in each other what I see in all of them. Of course, having such a lovely home to stage our gathering only made it more magical. Thank you to all who made turning 50 not such a bad thing. I love you all.

OMG, all that for two dogs who were probably quite content with warming to each other's body heat? Tom has too much time on his hands. I have some Projects at my house with which I could use some leadership. I will reward with cookies and beer and I don't chew or dig.

Does this mean that while you wait for those agents and publishers to do the sensible thing and publish Pauline that you will be busy writing the second in the series? I hate waiting a whole year for the next installment.

By the way, since when does a paperback go for $23.00?

I guess the boys are hornier in Puyallup. The boys I pass when running tend to look down, or the other way. Of course, most of them know I know who they are and where they live. Then there is the man who always takes the opportunity to say "perfect running weather today". Funny, I never see him out walking when it is raining, freezing, hot...

I am lucky, I guess, to live in an area where the houses are spread out on acre lots and the most alarming thing to happen to me was a fly getting stuck in the back of my throat as I took in a breath. The next five miles I had the song 'There was an old lady who swallowed a fly...' going through my head, and I am the "old lady"!

Your local gun store has mace and pepper spray in all sizes. They also have a variety of guns if you want to make more of a statement.

And no, I did not swallow a spider.

Methinks you greatly underestimate the fine taste in women the teenage boys in our neighborhood have! By the way, you can get a lightweight can of mace in the Cabela's catalog. In camo, no less! They won't know what hit 'em!

Congratulations, I am looking forward to going to Costco and seeing these "Local Author" stickers on this pile of books and saying "that is my daughter." Maybe I can be your man in waiting on one of your book signing trips, say like to London or even New York. We are proud of you.
